Inventory Accounts
Inventory Account Entry/Edit is used for the setup and management of Inventory Accounts.
An Inventory Account is an inventory location that may be physical, like a warehouse or building. An Inventory Account is more commonly an inventory quality categorization, such as Primary, Quarantine or Hold. An Inventory Account# is a 3-digit identifier.
An ARN/Receipt is required to have an Inventory Account defined in its header. This specifies which Inventory Account the stock will be stored when the Receipt is posted. Typically, inventory is received to a "Primary/Pickable" Inventory Account if it is to be available for shipments.
An Order is also required to have an Inventory Account defined in its header. This directs the system to know which inventory is available for allocation and shipment.
Unique by Client
Inventories Account IDs are unique by Client. Unlike other Master files, their Inventory Account IDs may not be shared across multiple Clients. For example, if a Client's Inventory Account "100-Primary" has been setup in the system, another Client must select a different number other than "100" for their Primary inventory account location.
The only required fields are Inv Account#, Description, and Printed Name.
At the "Inv Account" prompt, either enter a 3-digit identifier or press <Enter> to generate the next Inventory Account#.
If an Inventory Account# is entered that belongs to a different Client, an error message will display.
At "Description" enter the Inventory Accounts description, ex: "Primary-Pickable". This information is visible on most selection screens throughout the system.
At "Printed Name" enter the location's company name, ex: "Acme, Inc". This information is visible on the Shipping Pick Ticket and Pack Slip documents.
The remaining Address and Contact fields are optional but recommended as they are displayed throughout the system and on some document prints.
"% Up Charge" is used for Warehouse Billing. See the "Billing Module" section of this User's Guide for more information.
